Here we are at Week 9 and many people will think finished, the end, but this should be the beginning. This has been a good introduction to every thing we should be experiencing and enjoying. Many of the lessons gave me insight to good tools and fun places to use and adapt for library use. You Tube, Net Library and the Pod Casts are sites that I shall visit more and enjoy. Learning while doing has been a good experience.

WEEK 8 Continued

I went to the Web 2.0 Awards list and was surprised to see so many sites I have used. The You Tube site I have visited, but with a slower connection it is no fun. Traveling this past month we stayed at a motel with a W5 connection. I decided to look at You Tube and it was a lot of fun. I can see how someone could spend a lot of time just viewing everything in that site. I also have been to Craigslist to look for items and my daughter loves Craigslist. Google maps, bloglines and library thing are all sites I have registered with and use. Picasa is a site that I have encouraged many people to download and please use. If you have anyone sending you large photograph files Picasa is the answer. You can easily pick your pictures, place pictures in a tray, hit e-mail and the pictures are sent. The cool thing is they are reduced in size and they even type you are being sent __number of pictures. The best part is that the one sending you the large files does not even realize the pictures have been changed. It gives you three suggestions for an e-mail and one will be your default. It has some great features, is easy to use and the price is right.

WEEk 8

Well here we are on Week 8 with number 18.  Let me try some of the options in Zoho.    I know it is suppose to be just like Microsoft Word!innocent  They also have templates and more than 40 choices.  I am going to try and place this on my blog and lets see how easy a task this may be.

I browsed the Wiki sites this week and they were very interesting. The St. Joseph County Public Library's Subject Guide Wiki was fun and informative. The Book Lovers Wiki was great and I found some good reads. I posted a picture of my dogs Olivia and Gertrude to the SandBox Blog today 7/17/2007.

Week 6

I went to and set up my account and later learned I could use my Yahoo account login. Just to let others know so we don't get overwhelmed with logins and passwords. I tried the tutorial, but it did not work.(technical problem?) I toured the PLCML2 tags and did find a good program to suggest for our programming crew. Technorati was explored and I did a watch tool on my site, but what it will do is beyond me at this moment.(I did it Monday and this is Friday.) I liked the top rated lists to view. The future with Web 2.0 and libraries. I am not sure if it will all happen as to predictions, but it will be interesting in the future to look back and see.

Well I went to the Library Thing and registered and picked all my favorite books and even found my daughter's lists. Check out my link to the Library Thing with some of my favorite titles. Also spent time in the Rollyo site and have a search added to my blog for Home Improvement, Travel, and Tech News. My avator will appear sometime this week. Having fun!!

Here we are already to Week 4 and learning about RSS feeds. I looked and found the SALON. Click on some of the articles and read, read, read!! They are interesting and make you want to think, but don't hurt yourself.
