WEEK 9

Here we are at Week 9 and many people will think finished, the end, but this should be the beginning. This has been a good introduction to every thing we should be experiencing and enjoying. Many of the lessons gave me insight to good tools and fun places to use and adapt for library use. You Tube, Net Library and the Pod Casts are sites that I shall visit more and enjoy. Learning while doing has been a good experience.

WEEK 8 Continued

I went to the Web 2.0 Awards list and was surprised to see so many sites I have used. The You Tube site I have visited, but with a slower connection it is no fun. Traveling this past month we stayed at a motel with a W5 connection. I decided to look at You Tube and it was a lot of fun. I can see how someone could spend a lot of time just viewing everything in that site. I also have been to Craigslist to look for items and my daughter loves Craigslist. Google maps, bloglines and library thing are all sites I have registered with and use. Picasa is a site that I have encouraged many people to download and please use. If you have anyone sending you large photograph files Picasa is the answer. You can easily pick your pictures, place pictures in a tray, hit e-mail and the pictures are sent. The cool thing is they are reduced in size and they even type you are being sent __number of pictures. The best part is that the one sending you the large files does not even realize the pictures have been changed. It gives you three suggestions for an e-mail and one will be your default. It has some great features, is easy to use and the price is right.
